On Friday, February 21, 2020, James Hardie celebrated its new $187 million phase II expansion in Frederickson, Pierce County, Washington. James Hardie Industries official Joe Blasko and Plant Manager Daniel Kronick were joined by Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier, Congressman Danny Heck, Governor Jay Inslee, Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County CEO Bruce Kendall to cut the ceremonial ribbon.
James Hardie Industries, a Pierce County employer since 1997, is the world-leading manufacturer of fiber cement siding and trim products for residential and commercial use. James Hardie noted the contributions that the Frederickson facility has had on Washington state’s construction industry over the last two decades.
Now reaching 400,000 square feet, the expanded facility is poised to add 240 new jobs over time. In their press release (linked below) James Hardie noted assistance from the Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County for their support and assistance in getting the project off the ground.
