Welcome TPU Director Jackie Flowers

Jackie Flowers takes the helm at TPU
The EDB welcomes Jackie Flowers, new director of Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU).
Flowers took the helm Aug. 1. She’s the first woman to be permanently appointed to the top spot in TPU’s 125-year history and comes to the position with impressive credentials.
Flowers is a civil engineer with 25 years’ experience, 18 of which have been managing publicly owned utilities. Prior to joining TPU, she served for 12 years as general manager of Idaho Falls Power, where she was the first woman permanently appointed to the position in the organization’s 106-year history.
In her new role, Flowers looks forward building on the City of Tacoma‘s investment in the development and maintenance of infrastructure that has positioned the community and region for the growth it sees today.
“Tacoma Public Utilities will remain a critical, strategic partner in economic growth opportunities for the region,” Flowers said. “I am honored to join the highly qualified TPU team and look forward to collaborating with the EDB as we pursue economic activities that align with Tacoma’s interests and strengths.”
