He received Kidder Mathews’ “Big Hitter” award in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, a coveted recognition given to the company’s top annual producers. In 2024 Matt was elected to the Kidder Mathews Executive Board of Directors.
Before starting his brokerage career with Kidder Mathews, Matt spent four years in various sales and upper management roles in the wine and spirits industry for the E&J Gallo Winery and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. In his final position, he was responsible for over 100 sales representatives across the state of Washington while directly managing the internal promotion of a 150+ brand portfolio.
McClellan joined the EDB board of directors in 2023. According to McClellan, “The EDB is a stalwart of the business community. Their missions and efforts made on business recruitment and retention are paramount to the growth of Tacoma-Pierce County. I was honored to be considered for the board.”
Bringing years of business acumen and enthusiasm to the board, McClellan said, “As a commercial real estate practitioner, I have firsthand exposure and experience working with the business leaders in our community. I oftentimes am in the front lines of businesses looking to locate to Pierce County. Because of this, I can utilize my professional skills to help further the mission of the EDB.”
Over the last year and a half as a board member, McClellan has been a driving force in many successes at the EDB Tacoma and Pierce County. “To date my involvement has been focused on helping the EDB navigate real estate opportunities for potential business partners. I have been able to do this on several occasions and hope to continue to do so in the future,” McClellan said recently.
EDB is not the only organization that benefits from McClellan’s experience and insight. “I spend as much time as I can mentoring the next generation of real estate professionals and providing education online to those interested. I see it as my way to give back to our community and continue to improve our profession,” McClellan said.
