You probably heard that the resort development slated for Chambers Bay isn’t happening – yet. The worsening economy and inability to get financing were cited as reasons for shelving the project.

Termination of the agreement between Pierce County and Chambers Bay Resort LLC doesn’t change the fact that Chambers Bay is still an incredible Pierce County amenity.

“The decision isn’t a surprise given the current economic climate,” said EDB President Bruce Kendall. “Meanwhile, the world-class golf experience, walking trails, meadows and seashore access remain unparalleled in the Puget Sound area.”

Kendall noted that prospects for the resort will likely change in the years ahead as the economy improves.
