EDB nets leads from SelectUSA Investment Summit

In June, the EDB made its pitch for Pierce County on a global stage at the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington, D.C. The annual event is considered the highest-profile event in the country dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment.

Sarah Bonds, EDB Vice President for Business Recruitment, represented the EDB and Pierce County as part of the Washington State Department of Commerce delegation.

Bigger than ever

This year’s Investment Summit was the largest in the event’s history. With 3,600 visitors and 1,400 international companies in attendance, Bonds had multiple opportunities to engage, interact and tout Pierce County’s workforce talent, educational systems, incentives, amenities and more. She held 15 meetings with companies from 10 countries, including Japan, Taiwan, India, Singapore, Ireland, UAE, Estonia, Romania, France and Saudi Arabia.

“SelectUSA really drove home the fact that foreign companies are interested in doing business in Pierce County,” Bonds said. “I’ll be following up on several hot and warm leads over the coming weeks.”
