In 2017, Mitsui-Soko (U.S.A.) Inc., a subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsui-Soko Group, celebrated the grand opening of its Frederickson, WA facility. The company’s first Pacific Northwest location merited an international gathering: company leaders flew in from Japan to attend the opening with local officials.

For starters, the region is a major hub for both logistics operations and aerospace companies – the winning combination for Mitsui-Soko’s plans to supply aviation parts and materials to leading U.S. manufacturers. Another major factor for Mitsui-Soko was the expert support provided by the EDB and Pierce County to help the company find the best site and ensure its world-class facility was completed on time and on budget.
