The Port of Tacoma Commission received 26 applications earlier this year for the Port’s Local Economic Development Investment Fund program. This annual program helps provide support in the form of grants to Pierce County non-profit organizations and local governments that promote international trade, tourism or infrastructure.

Ultimately $229,000 in grant dollars total was awarded to 10 Pierce County projects. One of the selected programs was www.InvestPierceCounty.com, which was awarded $10,000. InvestPierceCounty.com is a joint project between the EDB and Pierce County Government aimed at globally marketing Pierce County commercial and industrial properties, providing site selectors and businesses with access to listings and demographic reports to help them find a home in Pierce County.
