Submit your nominations for Excellent 10, Golden Shovel
The 2025 EDB Annual Meeting is fast approaching, and now is the time to think about those outstanding projects and people in Pierce County who are key drivers of jobs, capital investment or other important community developments.
Honoring excellence
Each year, the EDB presents two economic development awards at its Annual Meeting: the Golden Shovel and the Excellent 10.
The Golden Shovel honors businesses, organizations or individuals that have made a significant contribution to the economic wellbeing of Tacoma-Pierce County. Recent past honorees include iconic candy company Brown & Haley, Tacoma’s Youth Marine Foundation and retired Brown & Brown Insurance VP Bev Losey.
The Excellent 10 showcases and celebrates 10 great economic development projects that have had a positive impact on the South Sound. Nominees can include business expansions, infrastructure projects, habitat restoration, educational programs and more that were in progress or completed in 2024. Check out last year’s Excellent 10 winners for inspiration.
Make sure people and projects get the recognition they deserve. Submit your nominations for the Golden Shovel and Excellent 10 awards by Dec. 20.
