Burkhart Dental Supply helps in the wake of Harvey

EDB investor Burkhart Dental Supply has been working to ensure dental professionals and practices in Texas, hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, have the support they need to recover and rebuild.

The Tacoma-based company’s Houston branch is helping clients ease logistical and financial challenges by offering quick replacement of damaged or lost supplies, fast service repairs, equipment assessments, and affordable equipment options with special finance rates. Burkhart will also reach out to the broader dental community to encourage dental offices to donate extra supplies for their peers in need.

“Our clients affected by the devastation in Texas are like family,” said Carrie Davis, Burkhart’s marketing and communications specialist. “Our account managers have strong, in-person relationships with these offices. We feel like we are part of their team.”

Beyond its client base, Burkhart has provided basic necessities such as toothbrushes, gloves and masks to shelters in affected areas. The company also cleared 5,000 square feet in its Dallas warehouse to provide a hub for emergency supply distribution. Burkhart has teamed up with American Logistics Aid Network, Save the Children and other humanitarian organizations.

The trail of Harvey’s devastation is long and wide. Burkhart expects to continue to provide warehouse space as long as it’s needed and will continue to engage with their clients over the next several months to ensure dentists are solidly on their feet and back in operation.
