New Economic Development Manager for TPU

The EDB welcomes Michael Catsi, new economic development manager for Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU).

Catsi comes to the position with more than 15 years of local, regional and statewide economic development experience. He was most recently director of business development and communications for the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), the development finance authority for the State of Alaska. Michael also serves on the board of directors for the International Economic Development Council.

In his new role at TPU, he will serve as the primary contact with external economic development agencies including the EDB, the City of Tacoma Community and Economic Development Department, Pierce County, suburban cities within TPU’s service territory, local chambers of commerce and other regional groups. He will also work to identify improvement opportunities in this field as they pertain to utility operations.
